WASTELAND is a fantasy world built by the ones who didn't make the cut, characters who worked out that being different isn't a curse, it's the whole point. So they built a place where their kind gets to feel normal, and loved.

01 — The world

Rejected, not worthless

The whole collection runs on one idea: the things the world casts aside are exactly the things worth building around. That idea shows up again later, in the tokenomics.

A WASTELAND character with dark teal hair, a bone headpiece and a cream robe with leather straps.
A WASTELAND character with bright red hair and a braid, in a torn teal coat, holding a machete.
A cloaked WASTELAND figure in red and slate armour, its head an orange skull-like shape.

02 — After mint

$WASTE and the forge

The ecosystem token comes after mint. It's earned by burning things, and spent at the forge.

  1. 01

    Burn selected assets

Selected NFTs and tokens, not all of them, and not only WASTELAND ones. Outside collections are eligible too.

  2. 02

    Receive $WASTE

The amount depends on what you burned, rarity, collection and token all factor in.

  3. 03

    Enter the forge

$WASTE is spent at the forge, alongside other inputs, to produce materials.

  4. 04

    Forge relics

Materials lead to relics, the rarer tier. More uses for $WASTE arrive as the ecosystem grows.

Irreversible

The burn is permanent. Once an asset is burned it does not come back, treat every burn decision as final.

Why it fits

Burning neglected assets to mint $WASTE gives value to things already written off as useless. It's the collection's whole thesis, expressed as a mechanic rather than a slogan.

04 — Personal opinion

My take

One supporter's read, not the team's words.

The art got me first

Honestly, the art is what pulled me in. First of its kind, I hadn't seen anything like it before.

Transparent about AI

The team has been openly transparent about their use of AI. We don't see that much in this space, and I hope they keep it up.

The burn mechanic

Love the idea of burning neglected tokens and collections for $WASTE, I might finally clear out some dead NFTs. Still curious how collections get selected.

Don't rush the mint

Not much has been shared about the ecosystem beyond the NFTs yet. I hope the team cooks properly rather than rushing to mint, they've got something good here.
